04/15/09 K-Basin Underwater Sludge Removal

S.A. Technology is providing a Pre-Conceptual Design Report for the Small Container Underwater Loading System. The report will be developed under the assumption that the system will operate within the existing K-West Basin and be operated by personnel at the 20’-9” level above the equipment. The concept shall be developed with the idea that the canister will be submerged underwater to overcome the static water head to fill the small container. Design documentation will be provided detailing the final configuration of the pre-concept design for the Small Container Underwater Loading System.

PIE Cave Powered Remote Manipulator (PRM)

S.A.Techology has won a contract to deliver a Powered Remote Manipulator (PRM) and Control System for the DMTR PIE Cave at the Dounreay site in the UK. The PRM standard configuration includes 6 degrees of freedom with gripper actuation and tool handling capabilities. The PRM joints are modular in nature, allowing for additions or reconfigurations to accommodate varying layouts and operating requirements. This is an exciting project for S.A.Technology as the PRM continues to prove itself as a leading manipulator in its class.
