Manipulator Internals
- The HC Manipulator uses modular J3000 in-lb joints (x4), lower the costs and allowing for easy re-configurations.
- The wrist rotate and wrist extend functions are integrated into a highly engineered assembly
- Interconnection between the joint elements is provided by custom manufactured carbon fiber tubes, which are cut to length and bonded to modular end caps.
- Electrical connectors at each joint allow for removal and replacement of the joint without removal of a wiring harness.
- Each joint carries its own absolute position feedback potentiometer to allow for closed loop positioning control.
- Additionally, in the event of a joint over-torque, highly repeatable cone clutches protect the gear train from damage.
