Hanford WTP Canister Racks
S.A.Technology is designing, qualifying, fabricating, and testing the buffer, cooling, and storage canister racks to be installed in several different areas in the HLW facility located at the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant. The racks will be used to store canisters temporarily in an upright orientation at various stages of the project.
The racks are composed entirely of stainless steel, and they have the highest level of process and material control requirements. The highest design static load is 425,960 lbs., and the systems were designed in a modular fashion for ease of installation.
